Payton Construction Completes History Museum for
State Street Corporation at One Lincoln Street
State Street Corporation, descended from one of the first banks in the United States, now has a museum to showcase its more than two hundred year history. The State Street Record, recently completed by Payton Construction, is located in the lobby of the bank’s One Lincoln Street building in Boston. Part of the museum is dedicated to an historic reproduction of the office of Allan Forbes, president of State Street during the early 20th century, reflecting his devotion to the bank’s historic maritime roots. Forbes' office reproduction is contrasted with the rest of the ultra-modern space that contains plasma screens showing a video about the history of the bank. The project team included Larocque Architecture & Planning and State Street Corporation.
